Ziqie Cinnabar Clay Jinzhou Baban Teapot 250cc Yixing Teapot
Jinzhou Baban Teapot
This is an original creation by master Wang Jinxin, breaking from traditional eight‑lobed ribbed ware. Instead of uniform lobes, this teapot combines two different lobe sizes into an eight‑lobed composition. Traditional ribbed vessels rely on perfect symmetry for seamless lid fit and continuous rib lines. But with alternating lobe dimensions, every angle, curve, and joint must be calculated individually. The lid features a “mixed square” window‑pane motif that precisely matches the lobes on the body. The base is a square shape, with the smaller lobes forming petal‑like corners – all naturally integrated. Any deviation would cause misaligned ribs or skewed lobes, demanding far greater precision than conventional designs. Wang Jinxin has achieved a brilliant balance: the two lobe sizes feel completely natural, creating a distinct asymmetrical beauty while preserving the essential characteristics of ribbed ware – continuous ridges and crisp lines. From lid to body, every ridge is clean and taut. The lid fits perfectly, with no gaps. The Ziqie Ni clay fires to a warm, eggplant‑purple hue, smooth and pleasant to hold. This teapot embodies both traditional ribbed craftsmanship and innovative design – a true blend of function and art.

Mixed‑square lid · Square base
Crisp, continuous rib lines
- ▸ Innovative lobe arrangement Two different sizes of lobes alternate around the body – a radical departure from traditional uniform symmetry. Despite the complexity, the overall composition remains harmonious and balanced.
- ▸ Mixed‑square lid motif The lid is carved with a “mixed square” window‑pane pattern that aligns precisely with the body’s lobes – an additional layer of precision and artistry.
- ▸ Square base with petal corners The base is square, and the smaller lobes extend to form petal‑like corners, integrating structural innovation with organic flow.
- ▸ Continuous, crisp rib lines Despite the non‑uniform lobes, every ridge flows seamlessly from the base, through the body, to the lid. The transitions are sharp and well‑defined, with no wobble.
- ▸ Perfect lid fit The lid closes tightly with no perceptible gap – a testament to Wang Jinxin’s mastery of alignment even under asymmetric conditions.
- ▸ Ziqie Ni This Cinnabar Clay variant fires to a warm, deep eggplant‑purple with a fine, smooth texture. It develops a subtle patina with use – ideal for oolong, pu’er, and black teas.
