Cinnabar Clay Bamboo-Tripod Teapot 110cc Yixing Teapot
Cinnabar Clay Bamboo-Tripod Teapot
The Bamboo-Tripod form is a celebrated classic, though its origins are shrouded in history. It was Fan Dasheng who, during the Guangxu era of the Qing dynasty, first created the “Square Silver‑Corner Bamboo‑Tripod” teapot. That piece, engraved by Chen Shaoting with the couplet “Sweeping snow to clear a pine path, channeling a stream through the bamboo grove”, won a Gold Medal at the 1915 Panama–Pacific International Exposition. Chen Shaoting was a disciple of Lu Lanfang and the senior apprentice of Ren Ganting—a bond of brotherly care that shaped Ren’s later artistry. In the 1920s, Fan Dasheng’s son Fan Qingren further developed the form into the “Hexagonal Bamboo‑Tripod.” Thus, the Bamboo‑Tripod lineage is widely attributed to the Fan family.
